Nigerian music producer Rexxie has finally broken silence following the release of his new single amidst Mohbad's death.

Rexxie and the late Mohbad used to work together when he was still part of the Marlians Music group.

They even released a song together titled KPK which is unarguably Rexxie's biggest song and most streamed song till date.

This got fans of late Mohbad angry at Rexxie for releasing a song in less than 24 hours of the singer's demise, knowing fully well how delicate it is for everyone at the moment.

However, the producer has released a statement on his X account saying he released the song the same day the incident happened.

Rexxie said if he had known such an incident was about to occur, he would have shifted the date of the release but he couldn't rectify it again after the news broke out.

Though he reached out to his team asking them to shift the date or better still, remove the song from streaming platforms but it was no longer possible.

He expressed that he is beyond broken by the news of Mohbad's death because he was a brother to him.

He said, "Honestly words can’t explain how I feel right now. We lost a brother and a special one! I’m really sad & broken, all I want is #JusticeForMohbad"
