Imo police apprehend three men for raping a 12-year-old girl
Three male suspects identified as Joseph Onyema, 35 yrs, Uzoma Nwanoreze, 30yrs, and Eberechukwu Nwosu, 43yrs, have been apprehended by the Imo State Police for raping and infecting a 12-year-old girl with an STD. The thorough investigation by the Police revealed that these men had rapper the young girl on several occasions and in the process, infected her with a sexually transmitted disease.
It's been reported that the girl is currently receiving adequate treatment at the hospital and the suspects will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
The spokesperson of the Imo state police command, ASP Okoye Henry, disclosed in a statement, how the state Commissioner of Police urged the residents to join hands with the Police to fight against rape and other sexually related crimes. The statement reads, “Investigation revealed that the suspects had unlawful carnal knowledge of the minor on different occasions, which made her develop serious vaginal injuries as well as a sexually transmitted disease. The victim is currently receiving intense medical care at the hospital. The suspects will have their day in court upon completion of a discreet investigation. The Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, Aboki Danjuma, while condemning the barbaric acts in totality, calls on well-meaning residents of Imo State to support the Police in the onslaught against defilement, rape, and other sexual-related crimes in the State. ”
