Manchester United CEO Richard Arnold was the first to resign from his role with Director of Football operations John Murtough expected to leave as well.

As Manchester United officials leave in droves, Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be expected to step into the reins with his contingents from INEOS Sports Group, and one of them is a renowned English-born sports manager Sir Dave Brailsford.

Days after Sir Jim Ratcliffe's takeover deal with the Glazers' family, Dave Brailsford joined thousands of Man United fans on the stands to watch the club trade tackles with Aston Villa on Premier League matchday 19.

The 59-year-old sports guru watched with glee and interest as Manchester United produced a stellar performance, coming from two goals down to defeat Aston Villa.

Sir Dave Brailsford is tipped to play a key role at Manchester United as Sir Jim Ratcliffe sets out for his transformational agenda at Old Trafford.

He is regarded as a right-hand man for Sir Jim and has played a great role at Nice - another sports club managed by INEOS group.

Dave Brailsford was born on February 24, 1954 in Shardlow, Derbyshire England. Before venturing fully into sports management, Brailsford started out as an export sales manager for Planet X - a bicycle company based in Rotherham, England.

In 1998, he secured a top role with British Cycling as a consultant. Brailsford managed top cycling athletes such as Geraint Thomas and Bradley Wiggins while at British Cycling before exiting his role to join Team Sky which was later renamed Team Ineos in 2019.

In 2021, Brailsford was appointed as the Director of Sports for INEOS Sports Group to oversee a diverse range of teams and sports managed by the group.

Brailsford is known for his 'marginal gains' philosophy in sport management. According to him, one is more likely to improve his game and performance if he/she breaks down every aspect of his overall performance into tiny parts and works on them to improve them one after the other.
