Irish chef breaks Nigerian chef Hilda Baci's record to become the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon of all time.

Five months after the cookathon that took the continent by surprise, an Irish restaurant owner named Alan Fisher dethroned Hilda Baci to become the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Alan Fisher, a citizen of Ireland has been confirmed to be the new record holder by the Guinness World Record after cooking for a duration of 119 hours and 57 minutes.

Alan Fisher broke two records at once to become a two-time record holder. He has broken the record for the longest cooking marathon by a single individual with a time of 119 hours and 57 minutes and the record for the longest baking marathon by an individual in 47 hours and 21 minutes. Alan Fisher made 32 recipes for a total of nine days. These two records were broken in about 168 hours at a stretch.

The record for the longest baking marathon was previously broken by Wendy Sandner of the USA in 31 hours and 6 minutes while the record for the longest cooking marathon was previously broken by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci.

Reacting to the news, chef Hilda Baci took to her social media page to congratulate the chef over his recent achievement.

She wrote, "Huge congratulations to Alan Fisher! 119 hrs 57 mins is a huge achievement, and I wish him all the best as the new world record holder!"
