Jesse Lingard has been banned from driving after he submitted a fake name to the police after he was caught speeding.
Recall we reported in April that Lingard, 30, was flashed by a speed camera in his Range Rover on the A56 in Trafford last year.
Lingard however gave the police the name of a man who allegedly doesn’t exist” along with an address which is “believed to be a car park” when he received a speeding notice at his home.
The former United player pleaded guilty to failing to provide information about who was driving his vehicle at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Friday 28th July, 2023.
Jesse Lingard was further fined £900 with a further £560 in costs and banned from the roads for six months.
The ban which he got came under a “totting up” process as the Englishman already had points on his licence from two previous speeding offences.
Lingard’s lawyer claimed that he was not the driver but missed the letter telling him to provide the drivers’ details as it went to his old address in Manchester while he lived at Nottingham then.

Jesse Lingard supposedly provided a name and address linked to a so-called “NIP farm”, where hoodlums help drivers evade motoring offences by providing false driver details.
The former England and Manchester United star received a letter at his home in Altrincham from Greater Manchester Police as he was the registered keeper of the car.
Two week ago, they received information the person driving was named George Bolt, who lived at an address in Oldham.
However the court learned that George Bolt was contacted and no response was received.
The prosecuting judge, Mike Arden stated that: “That’s not a surprise because he doesn’t exist, we’re quite certain about that.”
Lingard is currently a free agent after his contract at Nottingham Forest expired at the end of the 2022/23 campaiagn.
Jesse Lingard featured in 20 matches for the Premier League side last season and only managed to score two goals.
The Englishman spent about 20 years at his boyhood club, Manchester United, where he made 232 appearances.

At Manchester United, the former West Ham attacker won the English FA Cup and the UEFA Europa Cup.

He spent one more year at Manchester United before he was let go at the conclusion of the 2021–2022 campaign.
