Barcelona have been told that they will have to part with €30 million to make Joao Cancelo's loan move permanent.

Cancelo joined the Blaugrana side on loan on September 1, 2023, and he has been impressive for the club.

This has grown to an increase in desire from Barcelona supporters, who are keen to see the Portuguese's deal turned into a permanent one.

Joao Cancelo has made 21 appearances for Barcelona since his arrival, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists in all competitions.

The 29-year-old has his spot at right-back assured, with manager Xavi Hernandez making him the second player with the most minutes for the club this term.

Cancelo's 1, 715 is only behind IIkay Gundogan's 1, 957 passes made this season and he continues to delineate his brilliance game after game.

He didn't have the best of the season last campaign, as a rift with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola saw him being shipped out to Bayern Munich on loan.

During his time in Bavaria, Joao Cancelo also couldn't convince then Bayern manager Julian Nagglesman and present boss Thomas Tuchel, due to his weakness in defense.

However, he appears to have improved on that part of his game, with him coming in handy to help his side defensively.

Cancelo is a full-back, who has got immense attacking abilities, to create chances from the swings and also score goals when given the chance.

Before joining Barcelona on loan, he also had massive experience in Spain, having played for Valencia previously.

He was a player of the Los Ches from 2014 to 2018, scoring 4 goals and providing 8 assists in 91 appearances in all competitions.

Joao Cancelo is a top professional and he has played for several top clubs in his career, including; Benfica, Inter Milan, and Juventus.

The 29-year-old has scored 19 goals and provided 47 assists in 351 appearances thus far in his football career.

Internationally, the defender has made 50 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 10 goals and providing 6 assists in all competitions.

Meanwhile, Barcelona sit 4th on the La Liga table, with 38 points from 18 matches, winning 11 games, drawing 5, and losing 2.

The Spanish side are hoping to defend the league title which they won last season, but they haven't had the best of opening starts to the season.

Xavi Hernandez's side are 7 points behind league leaders Real Madrid and they are also 7 points behind 2nd-placed Girona.

The Catalonia-based club have been drawn to play against Italian club Napoli in the UEFA Champions League, and they will be aiming to also reach excellent heights in the competition.

Barcelona last won the UEFA Champions League in the 2014/15 season, and have highly struggled in subsequent seasons.

The Spanish side aren't favorites to lift the trophy, but given their pedigree in Europe, they are also seen as possible names that could win the prestigious trophy.
