Manchester United have reportedly entered the race for the pursuit of Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich, with Man City and Liverpool also interested.

The German International contract at Bayern Munich is set to expire in the summer of 2025, and there have been speculations that he could be on the move during next summer's transfer window.

The 28-year-old midfielder has again been a crucial player at Allianz Arena this season, scoring a goal and dashing out six assists in 20 outings in all competitions, but there is uncertainty concerning his long-term future.

Barcelona were linked with the German international during the summer transfer window, while it is understood that Manchester City alongside Liverpool are also keen on his acquisition.

Meanwhile, Man United are eager to strengthen their team ahead of next season and according to journalist Ekrem Konur, the 20-time English champions are being kept informed of any improvement over the January transfer window.

Therefore, a mid-season move away from Allianz Arena for the former RB Leipzig is doubtful, but a departure at the end of the 2023/2024 season is thought to be possible, with talks over a transfer potentially starting shortly.

The German International has been initially open to a move to the Premier League, with Liverpool also said to be in the race for his signature.

Joshua Kimmich joined Bayern Munich from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2015, and he has represented the current Bundesliga champions on 367 occasions across all competitions, scoring 41 goals and dashing out 100 assists.

Kimmich has bagged eight Bundesliga titles, three German Cups, and the UEFA Champions League during his spell at Allianz Arena, but he is thought to be looking for a new challenge at this phase of his career.

With Donny van de Beek set to be the first to leave Old Trafford, it is expected that there will be movement both in and out when it comes to Man United's midfield department in 2024.

Van de Beek is reportedly heading on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt for the second half of the season, with the German outfit set to have the chance to make the move permanent next summer.

Meanwhile, Sofyan Amrabat will allegedly not be joining Man United from Fiorentina permanently unless his form drastically improves in the second quarter of this campaign.

Casemiro is also being heavily linked with a move to the Middle East next year, and the club are also thought to be open to offers for Christian Eriksen, so there could be two or three central midfielders required at Old Trafford ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

However, according to Transfermarkt, the estimated value of the 28-year-old footballer is 75 million euros.

What's next for Joshua Kimmich?

It remains to be seen if the German midfielder will be willing to join Erik ten Hag's project at Manchester United next season.
