Meet Alhaja Basirat, the woman who has been feeding 100 kids a day for the past 3 years
A Nigerian woman identified as Alhaja Basirat Giwa has been feeding up to 100 kids per day for the past 3 years. She was recently interviewed by an IG content creator @mrlilgaga where she got to tell her story.
Alhaja Basirat said that she feeds the kids without collecting a dime from them. They come to her store every day to take garri, sugar, and sometimes kuli kuli. Once they have taken the garri, the kids go to the nearest water factory to collect free sachet water which they use in gulping the garri down their throats.
Out of curiosity, @mrlilgaga asked Alhaja Basirat about how she makes profit from her business since up to 100 kids feed from her store. She responded with, "God is giving me profit." She added that she doesn't segregate a particular quantity of garri that will be used in feeding the kids per day. They freely take their share out of the one she sells to her customers and she isn't bothered.
She has been doing this for three years and wouldn't be stopping anytime soon. Many were thrilled by her kindness toward the kids because feeding that amount of kids daily isn't an easy task, especially with the situation of Nigeria's economy. Can this woman be considered a legend?
