Mid-term break is not the time to overwhelm students with homework and projects, woman warns school administrators

A Nigerian woman issued a warning to school administrators who are ordering teachers to bombard students with homework and projects whenever the mid-term break is on. She said that the mid-term break is designed for students to relax their brains and minds, not a time to keep working on unending assignments. She added that the kids have the right to rest besides the normal weekends, hence, teachers should limit how they bombard them with assignments during school breaks.

She added, "It is a time meant for the brain of the child to rest. It is a time when the students rejuvenate from school and academic work. But wetin una turn am to? You now start bombarding the children with assignments, with projects, with unrealistic homework wey no dey make sense. It is not a time for a school to complete their scheme or complete their school work. It is a time when the children stay at home, they can do a lot of things like playing. Playing games like ludo."
