Wigwe University, founded by late Access Bank CEO, Herbert Wigwe, is set to open its doors to the first set of students in August 2024. The institution of learning located in Isiokpo, Rivers State has sparked reactions online after the tuition fees surfaced online yesterday.
Recall that the founder, Herbert Wigwe, alongside his wife, Chizoba, and their son, Chizzy, lost their lives in a helicopter crash in February 2024. Before his demise, Herbert Wigwe promised that his university would be Ivy League standard.
The university has four colleges; College of Management and Social Sciences, College of Science and Computing, College of Art, and College of Engineering. All these colleges except the College of Art offer a tuition fee of N11,998,800. The College of Art offers a tuition fee of N9.6M excluding accommodation.
The school's accommodation comes in different plans. The luxury single-bedroom apartment plan is N1,000,000 per month. The premium en-suite bedroom plan is for N3,845,000 per session. Students who subscribe to the Classic 1 Plan will pay a sum of N3,707,000 per session while those on the Classic 2 Plan will pay N3,500,000 per session.
