Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed that there is a release clause in the contract of Victor Osimhen and it is on the high side.

The president of Napoli stated that it is very herculean to keep top players, given that they are wanted by the big teams in Europe.

Victor Osimhen joined Napoli from French club Lille on September 1, 2020, for a fee of €75 million.

His contributions to the Neapolitans have caught the eye of several big teams in Europe, with many teams circling for his signature in recent years.

Osimhen is one of the best strikers in Europe, with great finishing, amazing pace, magnificent strength, and outstanding flair.

Victor Osimhen is currently the highest-scoring African in the history of the Serie A with 61 goals, an amazing feat that he broke and set up last campaign.

The 25-year-old has also continued from where he left off last season, scoring 13 goals and providing 4 assists in 21 appearances this campaign.

Five out of those 13 goals have come after his outing with Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, with Victor Osimhen resuming his scoring act right from his first game after returning.

He netted a goal against Barcelona, before following it up with a crucial goal in Napoli's 1-1 draw against Cagliari.

Recently, Osimhen netted a hat-trick for the Naples-based club in a 6-1 bashing of basement boys Sassuolo.

Victor Osimhen is a player who is highly sought after, with notable clubs like Paris Saint Germain, Chelsea, and Real Madrid all reported to be keen on signing the Nigerian.

His buyout clause will become valid from the 2024 summed transfer window, with the amount pegged within the region of €120 - 130 million.

The Napoli president said: “Some players stay for many years, others are wanted by PSG, Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea.

“It’s difficult to keep players when they are wanted by rich clubs. I can confirm there’s a release clause, very high one”.

Definitely, it will be difficult for Napoli to keep Victor Osimhen past the end of the season, given different happenings at the club earlier this season.

Osimhen was infuriated with the club following a spiteful post shared on social media and he showed his anger physically and via social media.

Victor Osimhen also showed a petulant display when he was substituted in a 0-0 draw for Napoli against Bologna earlier this season, with former Napoli boss Rudi Garcia displeased by his actions.

Anyway, he is very much loved by fans of the Serie A champions and they show that from time to time when the opportunity arises.

His partnership with Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was breathtaking last season and it resulted in Napoli winning the Serie A title, for the first time in 33 years.
