Another attempt has been made to break the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon recently. This attempt was made by a Ugandan woman who has been identified as Dorcas Mirember. She is popularly known as Mama D. Recall a lot of attempts have been made to break this record ever since Nigerian Chef, Hilda Baci broke the record in May 2023. However, not all attempts were recognized by Guinness World Record as some didn’t even register or meet the criteria for this record.

Dorcas Mirembe (Mama D) is the third person who will break the Guinness world record and her attempt is coming after Alan Fisher, an Irish chef set a new record in November 2023. Hilda Baci broke the record in May with 93 hours 11 minutes, while Alan fisher cooked for nearly 120 hors and became the new record holder. Mama D’s current cooking time is over 124 hours and still counting. She plans to cook into the new year which is in 2 days’ time.

If Mama D successfully cooks into the new year, it means she cooked for 9 days. After she completes her cook-a-thon, she has to wait for a few weeks for Guinness World Record to confirm her record and award her with a plaque. This will confirm her status as the new Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
