Paris Saint Germain have completed the signing of Italian midfielder Cher Ndour on a five-year deal.
Ndour joins PSG on a free transfer, after his contract with Benfica came to an end on the 30th of June, 2023.
The 18-year-old made 35 appearances for Benfica B last term, scoring 4 goals and providing 1 assists.
He made his debut on the 18th of March, 2023, and he was introduced as a substitute to Rafa Silva in the dying embers of a 5-1 victory over Vitoria de Guimaraes.
Cher Ndour becomes the sixth signing for Paris Saint Germain this summer, having already signed Marco Asensio, Manuel Ugarte, Milan Skriniar, Lucas Hernandez and Lee Kang-In.
Confirming his arrival to PSG, the club put out a statement on it's website which reads: “Paris Saint-Germain are pleased to announce the signing of Cher Ndour.
“The 18-year-old midfielder has signed a five-year contract with the club. He will wear number 27.”
Ndour has been tipped as “the next Paul Pogba” due to the similarity of his football style with that of the Frenchman.
Luis Enrique's side continues to make necessary reinforcement this summer as they intend to launch an assault on the Champions League next term.
Following the departure of Lionel Messi in June and the uncertainty regarding the future of Kylian Mbappe, PSG are making needed signings that will help to bolster their squad.
The Paris-based club won only the French Ligue 1 and the Trophée des Champions last term and they weren't contented by those successes.
Paris Saint Germain dismissed Christophe Galtier at the end of the season, despite achieving domestic success in his one-season stint at the Parc Des Princes.
The signing of Cher Ndour might be one for the future and he will be looking to burgeon into greatness in Paris.
He will be competing with players like Manuel Ugarte and Marco Verratti for a starting shirt in the midfield of Paris Saint Germain.
Ndour is currently on national team duty for Italy at the European U-19 Championship in Malta.
He has also played in all three matches for Italy in the tournament so far, scoring a penalty in the first encounter against Malta.
In one of his first speech as a Paris Saint Germain player, Cher Ndour revealed how excited he is at joining “one of the best clubs in the world”.
Quoting him verbatim, Ndour said:
“I'm really moved, It's a mix of emotions, but it's happiness above all because Paris Saint-Germain is one of the best clubs in the world with so many winners, and for me, it's an honour to be a part of this new family.”
Several clubs were also linked to the Italian, including Manchester United and Manchester City.
N'dour was born in Italy to a Senegalese father and Italian mother, but he is yet to make his debut for the Azzurri.
The 18-year-old won the Primeira Liga, Campeonato Nacional de Juniores, UEFA Youth League and Under-20 Intercontinental Cup whilst at Benfica.
