President Tinubu Congratulates Funke Akindele over her latest movie 'A Tribe called Judah'

The President of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has congratulated Funke Alindele on the success of her latest movie which is titled A Tribe called Judah. Funke Akindele is a famous Nigerian actress, producer, politician and filmmaker. President Tinubu has now congratulated her on the success of her latest production. Recall her movie 'A Tribe called Judah' recently surpassed N1 billion in Box office. The movie became the first Nigerian movie to gross at N1billion. This is a major achievement for Funke Akindele.

Funke is a 46 year old actress who has featured in movies such as Jenifa, Jenifa's diaries, battle on Buka Street, your excellency and many other movies. According to the Nigerian Box Office, Funke Akindele's movie has grossed N1bn since its release on the 15th of December, 2023. The movie has only been out for 3 weeks and has made such an achievement. It could be noted that the only other film to achieve N1bn in the West African Box Office is ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’.
President Tinbu congratulated her in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, who is Ajuri Ngelale.

The statement read “President Tinubu congratulates Ms. Funke Akindele on her record-setting film, and commends the ace thespian for her contributions to the growth of the industry. The President extols the excellence of the Nigerian creative industry, acknowledging its pivotal place as a medium not only for artistic expression but also a source of enormous soft power and viable export. The creative industry is one of the high-employment sectors, providing jobs for our able and talented youths. It is an industry that is crucial to my administration. I salute Nigerians for their enduring support and patronage of home-grown creative efforts. We will provide the conducive environment for the industry to thrive further.”
