Association of Table Water Producers to increase the price of sachet water to N100 as production costs hit an all-time high.
The price of goods and commodities has continued to escalate due to the economic hardship in the country. A sachet of water that was once sold for N5 has increased over the years to N10, N20, and N50 and is now aiming for N100.
During a press conference with TVC News, the association of Table Water Producers said prices may increase due to the high cost of production. "As of December 2023, we were buying materials for N1,100 per kg and a tonne is 1.1M. As of now, that same nylon is N3,600, N3,700, N3,800 and that's about N3.8M", they explained.
They revealed that the increment in the cost of production may occur three times a week due to the frequent production of materials. They also mentioned that the diesel used for production increased from N220 per liter to N1,700. They urged Nigerians to bear with the increase in price because it is totally out of their control.
