Rema's song 'Calm Down' sets African record on Billboard Hot 100

Popular Nigerian musician, Rema has set a new African record on the Billboard Hot 100 with his song 'calm down'

His hit song which is very popular has become the highest charting African song on the Billboard Hot 100. This is the mark of a new record.

Divine Ikubor is popularly known by the name Rema and he is a 22 year old artist signed to Don Jazzy's Mavin Records.

The news was shared when the chart news platform Chart Data recorded that Rema's song was at NO 8 on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
The song has now surpassed other African songs on the Billboard Hot 100.

The song 'Calm Down' has made history and the remix which features popular musician, selena gomez has been recorded as no 8 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Rema shared this news on his twitter on Tuesday. The news brought him to tears and he mentioned how hard he had worked to get his song there. He expressed his gratitude to God for how far he has come and to everyone who believed and sent much love to Selena Gomez too.

Calm down was originally released in February in 2022 and it became popular before he featured Selena Gomez on the remix thereby giving the song a wider and international reach.

The music video of 'Calm Down' is the most-watched Nigerian music video on YouTube as of now.
