Residents are beginning to share the aftermath of last night's explosion which happened around Bodija, Ibadan. A lot of valuables were damaged due to the magnitude of the explosion, making hundreds of people lose their homes and other valuables. As of the time of writing this article, 2 deaths have been recorded and 77 people were reported to have been injured. The injured residents are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The explosion was said to have been caused by some explosives which were illegally stored in a building by some miners. The state government has promised to foot the medical bills of the affected individuals who are receiving treatments at UCH. It also stated that temporary accommodation will be provided for residents who have been rendered homeless and each one of them will be supported to rebuild their lives.

Below are clips shared by affected residents.

The picture of a young man who survived the Ibadan explosion is being circulated in the media. He narrated his story on his X page with the handle @shurley_bankz and shared a picture of how he looked after the explosion. He wrote, "I escaped!! I still don't even know what's happening here in Ibadan but we are safe. All we heard was a massive blast."
