Solomon Adeola, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation who doubles as a Senator representing Ogun West, has disclosed that President Bola Tinubu has vowed to use the 2024 appropriation bill of N28.7tn to fight hunger and hardship in Nigerians. He stated that the president has budgeted N300 billion out of the N28.7 trillion for the Agricultural sector, which signifies seriousness in fulfilling its wish. Adeola further added that more focus will be on increasing food production in 2024.

This information was revealed by Adeola on Wednesday when speaking to newsmen in Ilaro, Yewa South local government in Ogun State. He reassured Nigerians about Tinubu's intention to eradicate hardship in the nation by saying, “As you can see, the president has signed the appropriation bill into law, we now have an N28.7tn appropriation bill out of which Agriculture alone is taking over N300bn. What that simply means is that the government of the day is determined to end hunger in the country and will be doing so much in the area of food production. President Tinubu has even, in a way by proxy, supported school feeding in our various schools across the country, and in doing that, local production of food in the country is ensured."

Adeola added that the lawmakers joined hands in ensuring the new appropriation act signed by President Tinubu would tackle food production and security in the nation. Also, the 2024 budget is bound to bring positive development to every area of the country without leaving any sector to chance.
