Tottenham have been handed yet another huge injury problem as Brennan Johnson is the latest worry following his early substitution against Nottingham Forest on Friday night, December 15.

The former Nottingham Forest player made his first appearance in Spur's 2-0 win against his old club side since leaving the City Ground in the summer.

The Welshman met with Tottenham defenders in the box from a bouncing ball and several Nottingham players, which later turned to concern as he went down in the box following a defensive phase of play.

It happened as though Johnson was caught across the head, having gone down to the floor and expecting attention.

A lot of blood was seen on the shirt of the versatile winger, who was finally subbed off for Oliver Skipp as a protection to prevent further issues.

The change was confirmed as a collision substitute, meaning Tottenham Hotspur still had five other changes they could make in the match.

It comes as a huge blow to head coach, Ange Postecoglou as he deals with a whole lot of players that are unavailable to him through suspension or injuries.

Destiny Udogie will miss the next game by picking up his fifth yellow card of the season, while Yves Bissouma is set to miss three matches for a straight red card later in the clash with Nottingham Forest.

However, the City Ground outfit supporters showed their concerns as they sang praises of the Welsh International when he was on his way off the pitch.

A few of the Forest fans took to social media to send a support message.

A fan wrote; "Hope he's OK."

Another one said; "Gutted for him, not what you want on your return to your old club".

One declared; "Is Johnson OK? Hopefully, he is".

Another added; "That's the spirit of sportsmanship. I appreciate the fan for the kind gesture shown to the injured player".

Brennan Johnson has joined a host of Tottenham players including James Maddison, Micky van de Ven, Manor Solomon, Rodrigo Bentancur, Ivan Perisic, and Ryan Sessegnon who will be sidelined until January.

The 22-year-old has so far made eight appearances for Tottenham, scoring a goal.

His short period at City Ground saw him bagged 29 goals in 109 appearances.

Johnson joined Nottingham as a kid in 2009, and a decade later he made his senior debut before helping the team win promotion from the Championship to the English Premier League in 2022.

Despite Johnson's early exit, Tottenham finally took the lead against the home team on the stroke of half-time following a strike from Brazilian International Richarlison.

Dejan Kulusevski secured the result with a goal in the 65th minute of play.

Before Anthony Elanga struck back for Forest but was later ruled out for offside.

What's next for Tottenham?

The London team will travel to Merseyside to face Everton on Saturday, December 23, without a host of first-team players due to the injury crisis battling the team.
