Following reports that the Bauchi State government is unable to meet its obligations of timely salary payment to civil servants, the Bauchi State Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, on Monday slammed those spreading false information about his administration, calling them shameless liars and agents of discord.
Bala further stated that any civil servant who is due wages should come forward with proof, guaranteeing that the matter will be resolved swiftly.
"Such can come straight to me, any of the commissioners, political appointees, or even the leadership of the PDP," he said, challenging those spreading lies to come out openly with real evidence.
Governor Bala emphasized the importance of correcting the record after what he described as a scheme to discredit his government's achievements in office, noting that his administration has paid all outstanding payments to state civil personnel.
The Governor voiced his displeasure with accusations that his administration failed to follow through on campaign promises made to state civil servants and that most state employees are still owed up to eight months pay.
We want to make sure that we leave behind divisive issues, misinformation, and political gimmicks.
"I understand that some people are still talking about salaries after we've discussed them extensively." He stated.
Local government councils in the state are even releasing and paying their own employees salaries before the end of the month.
Even at the state level, salaries are paid as and when due, except for small administrative issues, the Governor explained.
Those issues of health, especially health workers who are not paid within the state, will be accommodated.
