In a recent interview with Trending, Skales disclosed how he met Burna Boy when he was still an upcoming artist. Skales said he was in the studio after one of his events in Port Harcourt. He went to work with his fellow artist Leriq in the studio and he heard one of Burna Boy's songs. He had listened to the song before but he didn't know it was Burna Boy who sang it.

Leriq informed him that Burna Boy also resides in Port Harcourt and he was also coming to the studio that same day and that was how they connected. Skales said he and Burna Boy weren't that close but they maintained a cordial relationship until he moved to Lagos.

Skales revealed how easy it was to collaborate with Burna Boy when he wanted to release his debut and sophomore album. He only sent a message and he sent his verse the next day. Skales revealed how he got Burna Boy to feature on the remix of his hit song "Temper".

He said he met Burna Boy at the club one night and he told him there's a song of his that he listened to on TV and he would like to do something on it. Skales told him it was his song "Temper" and he scheduled a meeting with Burna Boy at his house. He went to Burna Boy's house and he just recorded a freestyle. When the song was ready, Burna Boy was so happy with the result. He released it and it became one of the biggest songs in the country that year.

Skales said he often told Burna Boy that he is his favorite artist and he is an incredible person. He also recalled how Burna Boy called him to perform with him at a show. Skales said he was in Yola with his fellow singer Davido at the time when Burna Boy called and asked Davido to fly him to the show in his private jet. He got there and performed with Burna Boy in front of thousands of fans and that was a turning point in his career.

He revealed that that was how he met international artist Diplo and also earned an international feature with American rapper Nicki Minaj and PartyNextDoor on the hit song "Run Up".
