Nigerian singer Habeeb Olalomi popularly known as Portable has revealed the reason why his former signee Young Duu left his record label Zeh Nation.
The public have been curious about why the indigenous artist Young Duu parted ways with his boss Portable barely six months after he signed a deal with him. Portable has finally broken his silence on the departure of Young Duu in this interview.
Portable stated that there are three ways by which an artist can gain popularity. He said an artist can gain recognition either by grace, disgrace or by death. He stated that he has chosen grace out of these three.
Portable revealed that Young Duu left his record label by himself before he left Nigeria for Europe. He said when Young Duu was still with him, he always advised him to go out to the streets to make more income for himself apart from the one he was getting from him. He disclosed that Young Duu stopped coming to his studio. Portable said Young Duu isn't the most talented artist out of all his signees but he bought him a car.
He also revealed that Young Duu's parents are ungrateful. He said they never sent their regards or appreciated him for all he did for their son. It was when he sent Young Duu away that his parents came looking for him. He said he gave Young Duu some money to give to his mother but he never went home. His parents weren't even aware he had a car.
The Zeh Nation boss said Young Duu abandoned the car he bought for him and gave excuses of not having fuel to drive it. Portable said the reason why he bought a car for Young Duu was to promote him in the industry. Portable revealed that Young Duu also trolled his signee Abuga when he got a car for him. He said his artist Abuga has been through a lot last year from getting involved in an accident, going to prison for 3 months and having issues with his wife. He decided to get him a car to appreciate him because of how loyal he is.
Portable further stated that there are some artists in the industry who have been taken advantage of and ripped off their prestige. Stylishly referring to Young Duu's association with Carter Efe, he said some people in the industry use artists for promotion. Portable said his manager already secured about three shows for Young Duu before his disappearance. Portable said Young Duu is only promoting himself but he may no longer have a chance with him again because he has abandoned his source of power which is him.
Portable expressed that he owns Young Duu and everything he has. Therefore, any record label who wants to sign him will settle him with a whopping sum of N100 billion. He stated that nobody can take Young Duu from him.
