Nigerian reality TV star and media personality TolaniBaj has stated that women aren't supposed to be feminists.
In a recent episode on her podcast, TolaniBaj weighed in on the feminist movement saying women shouldn't be feminists because men and women aren't equal. She said women aren't meant to compete with men. Instead, they are supposed to complement them.
TolaniBaj stated that she cannot call herself a feminist because she sees no reason why she should act masculine with her man. The guest for the show, Lagos big boy Yhemolee also said he doesn't like Nigerian feminism because it is too extreme.
Yhemolee said, "You'll see a 24-year old girl that hasn't even made anything, be in front of the keypads and be acting like a feminist. You've not even had your life together, you're already making comments about men."
Yhemolee expressed that even in the Bible, God made the man the head over the woman. He said even if his woman is academically sound than he is or if she is from a wealthy home, as long as she is married to him, he is still the head.
He said he should be able to tell his woman what to do and she will obey but it isn't the same the other way around. "I should be able to tell you, 'Madam, sit down there'. You can sit down and be squeezing your face but you'll sit down first. But a woman cannot tell a man to sit down because of society's standards."
