The broadband internet market in Nigeria is becoming very competitive as companies continue to expand their fibre and wireless networks. Recently, Legend Internet announced a merger with Spectranet, which is expected to strengthen its position in the broadband market and expand its customer base.

Major players in Nigeria’s broadband market include MTN Nigeria, Airtel Africa, and Legend Internet. MTN has the largest customer base and strong 4G and 5G network. Airtel is growing fast in mobile data and broadband services across Africa. Legend Internet is still growing but the merger may help the company expand faster and compete better in the broadband market.

What This Means For Investors

MTN appears to be a strong and stable company. Airtel appears to be a growth company. Legend Internet appears to be a high-growth but higher-risk company if the merger is successful.

My Opinion

The Legend and Spectranet merger may change the broadband market in Nigeria if managed properly. It may also improve the company’s revenue in the long term.

What do you think about Legend Internet after the merger? Do you think it can compete with MTN and Airtel in the broadband market?

The merger is a fantastic one and would definitely have effect on the share price. They are not likely to compete with Mtn and Airtel for now because they also have limited coverage compared to these duo. However, in the future, they can expand.

I agreed to what you said, isn't time to start comparing legend with the African biggest network
