Nigerian billionaire Obinna Iyiegbu, aka Obi Cubana, broke the silence hours after he was released from custody by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

We previously reported that Obi Cubana was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission for money laundering on Monday, November 1st, 2021.

The Anambra-born club owner, who arrived at EFCC headquarters in Jabi, Abuja on Monday afternoon, was interviewed by members of the committee.

An EFCC source revealed that the Obi Cubana case bordered on money laundering and tax evasion. Since then, there have been several reactions to the arrest of many Nigerians and friends of the celebrity.

Obi Cubana was released on Tuesday afternoon, November 2, 2021, after several hours of interrogation.

Obi Cubana shared a photo of himself after his release from EFCC custody, expressing his love for everyone who contacted him, adding that he was unbroken.

He wrote: Okpataozueora! I love you ALL!! UNBROKEN!!! manoftheyear2021.

We remind you that Obi Cubana organized an elaborate funeral for his mother Ezinne Iyiegbu in Oba, Anambra state, in July.

Since the excitement surrounding him, Obi Cubana has become an inspirational figure, appearing in interviews telling how he started out as a young, submissive graduate in a one-room apartment. 1999 in Abuja.

He told BBC Pidgin that he started out as a real estate agent and made his first million naira on a housing contract he got at the time.

Today there is a widespread investment in entertainment, hospitality, and real estate, among others.

Meanwhile, the Celebrity Barman Cubana Chiefpriest has reacted to the arrest of his former boss, Obi Cubana, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

In a post shared on Instagram, Cubana Chiefpriest said that what does not kill them makes them stronger, adding that the Igbos are used to being victimized by the government.
