2 brothers arraigned in court for raping woman and threatening her life


2 brothers have been arraigned in court for raping a woman and threatening her life.

Officers of the police command in Lagos State arrested these two brothers on Tuesday in the state.

The brothers have been identified as Wahab Afeez, who is 26 years old , and Shuaibu Afeez, who is 23 years old.

Their crimes were over alleged conspiracy, rape, breach of peace and threat to life.

The duo stood trial before a Badagry Chief Magistrates' Court and this was on a four-count charge.

They had committed the offences on the 14th of June, 2023. This was around 2.30 pm at Oluwo Compound, Imeke, Badagry.

It was the prosecutor, ASP Ikem Uko, who told the court this.

One of the brothers Wahab sexually assaulted a lady who is 20 years old. He had also threatened to kill her with cutlass if she revealed this to anyone.

His brother also was in on the action. He stood at the door of the house and watched this crime happen.

The defendants, pleaded not guilty to all the charges read against them.

The court granted the duo bail in sum of ₦‎500,000 each with two sureties in like sum. It was the Chief Magistrate, Patrick Adekomaiya, who granted them bail.

He however said that one of the sureties must be a community leader.
He adjourned the case until July 30 for mention.
