30 year old suspect arraigned in court for stabbing a man in Lagos

A 30 year old man has been arraigned in court for stabbing another man in Lagos state recently. This man has been identified as Victor Chinwendu.

He was arraigned on Wednesday before an Isolo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos state. His crimes were allegedly stabbing a man who has been identified as Justice Mba with a knife. He has been arraigned on 3 counts of assault, assault occasioning bodily harm and attempted murder by the Police.

It was the prosecutor, Ojie Uagbale, who revealed that he had committed this act at No. 38, Apostolic Street, Ago Okota. This was around 8:30pm on the 29th of August, 2023.

The charge against him stated that “That you, Victor Chinwendu, attempted to unlawfully kill one Justice Mba by stabbing him in the back with a knife which is likely to endanger his life and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 230 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

Mr Victor the defendant pleaded not guilty to these charges which were read against him.
The Magistrate, A. Akokhia then granted him bail in the sum of N500,000. This came alongside two sureties. The Magistrate also ordered that he remains in Kirikiri Custodial Centre until they are able able meet all the bail conditions.
They also adjourned the case till September 12, 2023.
