Abducted Benue priest set free from captivity
The priest who was abducted in Benue state some time ago has been set free.
The victim is the Catholic Priest of Otukpo Diocese, Rev. Fr. Anthony Adikwu.
Recall he was kidnapped last week Thursday by some gunmen in the Ohimini Local Government Area in Benue State.
These gunmen had gone to the community at 7pm last week Thursday. They took him away and this raised fear in the other residents of the community. The priest has now been set free.
Officers of the Operation Zenda Unit, were deployed to locate the criminals and the victim
SP Catherine Anene, who is the state Police Public Relations, has confirmed the priests release. She revealed that he was rescued on Tuesday.
She revealed that the officers had been tracking for some time and finally due to Pressure the kidnappers released him.
