Abia State to become the first to enjoy 24-hour power supply after President Tinubu commissions Geometric power plant
Residents of Aba, Abia State are set to enjoy a 24-hour power supply as President Tinubu commissioned the Geometric power plant in Osisioma Industrial area. The power plant embodies 181-megawatt, making it one of its first kind in Nigeria. A test run of the new power plant was carried out on February 25th around 3:39 pm.
Now, Aba Power Limited Electric, the newest electricity distribution company (DISCO) will oversee the supply of electricity from the new plant to 9 of the 17 Local Government Areas of Abia State. Geometrics is now described as the biggest investment in the Southeast region of the country after spending an acquisition cost of about $800 million.
A 27-kilometer natural gas pipeline was also constructed from Owaza from Owaza in Ukwa West LGA in Abia State, to the Osisioma Industrial Layout in Aba.
