Manchester United winger Antony has been a hot transfer subject recently following his underwhelming performance with Manchester United this season.

Emerging from the off-field assault scandal involving his ex-partner Gabriela Cavallin, Antony has struggled to find form with Man United. He could not score or assist for the Red Devils in his 21 appearances for the club this season.

After a dragging goal drought which saw the former Ajax winger suffer a heavy backlash from United legends and fans, Antony finally scored and assisted in United's 4-2 FA Cup win over League Two side Newport County.

Nevertheless, he has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. As per the Sun, Manchester United's new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe was ready to offload Antony and Casemiro to recoup the club's £146m expended on the two players last summer amid their dwindling fortunes with the club.

The report adds Ratcliffe, who recently had his £1.3bn partial takeover bid for United ratified, was reportedly ready to overhaul United transfer plans with the Brazilian duo - Casemiro and Antony - taken off the wage books.

It is understood no European club would opt for a deal that could repay United's £140m transfer spending on the two players, hence the decision to offer them to Saudi clubs.

Antony's agent Junior Pedroso debunks Antony's Saudi links

Amid reports linking Antony to a possible exit to Saudi Arabia, his agent Junior Pedroso has come out to debunk the rumors.

In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, Junior Pedroso said;

"We’ve not received any communication from Man United about Antony and potential transfer for January or summer window,” Pedroso said.

“Antony has his head focused on doing his best for Manchester and improving his numbers.”

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag made Antony his signature signing for the Red Devils. United expended a record £84m to broker a deal with Ajax for the 23-year-old. After a promising start to life at Old Trafford, the Brazilian winger's fortunes has spiraled downwards. Despite his agent's admission on his transfer future, Antony's future at Manchester United is still uncertain with Sir Jim Ratcliffe helming the club's footballing affairs.

As things stand, Antony is on the chopping blocks in Man United squad should his dismal run with the Red Devils continue.
