Tinubu beats 13 Others To Win APC Presidential Primary


The primaries took place at the Eagles Square, Abuja. The APC delegates cast their votes for their preferred Presidential Aspirant in the primaries election. The person who wins the presidential primaries will be the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and will contest in the coming presidential elections in 2023 against opposition parties.

The names of all the APC presidential aspirants and the winner of APC Presidential ticket for elections 2023 are included in this article.

The All Progressive Congress (APC) screened 23 aspirants and the list of APC aspirants 2023 includes:

Who won APC presidential primary election

The former Lagos State Governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is the major winner of the just concluded presidential primaries of the party.

Tinubu, also the National Leader of the party, defeated 13 other aspirants to emerge the flag bearer at the end of the Special National Convention of the party on Wednesday in Abuja.


Here is how the delegates voted:

Bola Ahmed Tinubu received 1271 votes

Ahmed Lawan – 152 votes

Rochas Okorocha – 0 vote

Tunde Bakare – 0 vote

Ben Ayade – 37 votes

Yahaya Bello – 47 votes

Yemi Osinbajo – 235 votes

Rotimi Ameachi – 316 votes

Tinubu polled a total of 1,271 votes – more than four times the votes scored by his closet rival, Amaechi the former Transport Minister, who had 316 votes.

Osinbajo, Lawan, and Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State came behind the duo with 235, 152, and 47 votes respectively.

More than 2,300 delegates voted in the contest that produced Tinubu as the presidential flagbearer of the ruling party.

He is now scheduled to face the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party and others in the February 25 presidential ballot.

The final vote count was confirmed at around 14:10 pm Abuja time at the Eagles Square after a rigorous voting and collation process that resumed by 3am on Wednesday morning.

Before the voting process commenced, 7 aspirants stepped down for Tinubu.

Senator Akpabio explained that he took the decision to step down for the APC chieftain in the interest of the party and the nation, and asked his supporters to pitch their tents with the former Lagos State governor.

The seven aspirants who stepped down for Tinubu are Dr Kayode Fayemi, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, Senator Ajayi Boroffice, Mr. Dimeji Bankole, Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa, Mrs. Uju Ohanenye and Senator Godswill Akpabi

Those who refused to step down include Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Lawan, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, Pastor Tunde Bakare and Mr Tein Jack-Rich

With his emergence as the APC presidential flagbearer, Tinubu will be up against candidates of other parties including Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party for a chance to be elected as the nation’s president in next year’s general election.



APC Primaries: Governorship primary winners list

APC Governorship Primaries Election Results 2022/2023 is out.

All Progressive Congress (APC) conducted their governorship primaries across Nigeria.


The primaries held in 28 out of the 36 states of the federation Wednesday 25 May ahead of the general elections to hold In 2023.

Eight states do not hold governorship elections during the four-year election cycle


All the candidates who won in the delegates voted primary elections have been handed their governorship tickets to contest for the 2023 state governorship elections under the party APC.

Candidates who won their primaries elections in their respective states will face their opponent from other parties.


The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials monitored the entire exercise and voting process.

Security operatives were also present to ensure that the primaries go smoothly.


The All Progressive Congress (APC) has announced the results of all the gubernatorial governorship primary elections that took place in: Abia State, Adamawa State, Akwa Ibom State, Anambra State, Bauchi State, Bayelsa State, Benue State, Borno State, Cross River, Delta State, Ebonyi State, Edo State, Ekiti State, Enugu State, FCT (Federal Capital Territory), Gombe State, Imo State, Jigawa State, Kaduna State, Kano State, Katsina State, Kebbi State, Kogi State, Kwara State, Lagos State, Minna State, Nassarawa State, Niger State, Ogun State, Ondo State, Osun State, Oyo State, Plateau State, Rivers State, Sokoto State, Taraba State, Yobe State, Zamfara State.


So far, the APC has announced the results of all the gubernatorial governorship primary elections that took place in the states.

It's going to be interesting to see who wins the next election. Peter Obi is gaining ground but Tinunbu is still standing strong. Nigeria 2023 election will mean so much to the people. Get out and vote.
