Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez is coming under intense pressure as Real Madrid bundled Barcelona in El Clasico Super Cup final.

Vinicius Jr lorded the game over the Catalan giants, with a sleek and enviable individual display. The Brazilian attacking sensation recorded his first El Clasico hat-trick to condemn the arch-domestic rivals to their biggest El Clasico defeat.

Another fast-rising baller Jude Bellingham was also a thorn in the flesh of Barcelona. Jude Bellingham delivered an incisive throughball, splitting Barcelona's midfield and defense, to locate Vinicius Jr, who raced forward and beat Pena Sotorres to score Real Madrid's first goal in the game. Three minutes after giving the Merengues the lead, Vinicius Jr starred again for the Los Blancos, scoring from a very tight angle at the back post from Rodrygo's cross.

Trailing by two unreplied goals, Robert Lewandowski gave Barcelona a lifeline, scoring from outside the box to reduce the deficit. However, before the break, Vinicius Jr stung the Catalans again with his third strike to bag his first El Clasico hat-trick. Real Madrid were edging to a resounding victory as Barcelona suffered blows to their comeback hopes when Rodrygo extended the score margin to make it 4-1.

Ronald Araujo was sent off for the Catalans in another fatal blow. At the blast of the final whistle, Real Madrid cruised to victory, wrestling the Super Cup trophy from the Xavi-led team.

The defeat piled up more pressure on Xavi Hernandez, who is already struggling with a difficult domestic campaign. Barcelona are apparently off the La Liga title race with Real Madrid and Girona going head-to-head at the top of the table.

With a dwindling domestic fortune, Xavi has been under intense pressure. However, Barcelona director and former player Deco, has confirmed the club is not considering parting ways with Xavi.

In a quote shared by Fabrizio Romano, Deco said after the El Clasico defeat;

“Questions about Xavi make no sense. Xavi has full confidence from all of us”.

“This defeat doesn’t change our plans”.

Xavi Hernandez will hope to return the winning ways when the club takes on Unionistas in Copa Del Rey on Thursday, January 18.
