The eNaira Speed Wallet App is missing from the Google Play Store just a few days after it was launched on Monday, October 25, 2021.

That came after sources revealed that the eNaira app has been downloaded more than 200,000 times in just 24 hours, indicating massive interest in the central bank's digital currency.

A quick search in the Google Play Store and you would notice the eNaira Speed Wallet app is missing, but the eNaira Speed Merchant Wallet app is still available for Android users.

Nonetheless, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has warned users that it will not be held responsible for any loss arising out of or related to the use of the eNaira website.

This information is published on the CBN's eNaira website.

Attention was drawn to this warning after the eNaira wallet suddenly disappeared from the Google Play Store. Sources close to the problem said it was pulled to make the necessary updates.

In no event shall CBN or its directors, officers, employees, independent contractors, affiliates or agents, or any of its respective service providers be liable to you or any third party for the use, interruption, delay, or inability to use the eNaira website, income or loss of profit, delays, interruption or loss of service, business or customer, loss or corruption of data, loss due to system failure or system services, malfunction or shutdown, failure to transmit, read or transmit information, failure to update or provide correct Information, system incompatibility or provision of incorrect compatibility information or breach of system security or for consequential, incidental, indirect, exemplary, special or criminal damages arising out of or in connection with the use of the eNaira site.

Users were also a little uncomfortable when information from the site indicated that the CBN would not be held responsible for any errors on the site.

The material appearing on the eNaira website could contain technical, typographical, or photographic errors. CBN does not guarantee that the materials on this website are correct, complete, or current. CBN may update the materials contained on the eNaira website at any time without notice and make no commitment to update the materials.

I smell something fishy with this eNaira thing. The apex bank also warned that it has been made aware of criminal and illegal acts by certain people, as well as a Twitter handle called @enaira_cbdc that is believed to be owned by the bank.
