President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the suspension of the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Adamawa State.

Hudu Yunusa Ari is the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Adamawa State.
This is pending the time the investigation on his conduct during the supplementary elections has been completed.

Recall the supplementary elections were held on the 15th of April, 2023 which was just last week Saturday.

It was Mr Mustapha who is the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, that revealed this in a Statement.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has also denied the accusations of them being biased in the supplementary elections which were conducted just recently in Adamawa.

Recall the REC on Sunday had gone ahead to declare Binani as the winner of the supplementary elections on Saturday.

He made this declaration when they hadn't even completed the collation of results.

Few hours later, INEC reversed this declaration. INEC had mentioned that this declaration has no effect.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ahmadu Finitiri was then declared as the winner.

Binani has also denied the accusations that she offered a sum of money as bribe so as to be declared the winner.

The suspension of the REC has now been approved by the President and investigations are still been carried out
