President Muhammadu Buhari gives a farewell broadcast message to Nigerians today, Sunday, May 28, 2023.

By tomorrow, he will cease to be the president of Nigeria as the president-elect, Tinubu will be sworn in.

Buhari will hand over to Bola Ahmed Tinubu tomorrow, May 29 2023.

President Buhari made the farewell broadcast today to Nigerians as the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. This happened today, by 7am.

Mr Femi Adesina who is the spokesperson for the president jad on Saturday,urged TV and radio stations to look for network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and Radio Nigeria for the broadcast.

Buhari in his farewell broadcast had revealed this is his final assignment as the president. He expressed his gratitude to God and the people of Nigeria.

He mentioned how Nigeria has experienced the most keenly contested Presidential Elections since the first Republic.

He revealed this is as a result of the betterment of democracy in Nigeria.

He revealed that democracy gave room for other presidential candidates who didn't agree with the election results to go to court.

He then urged such parties to accept the decision the courts have made and join hands together and build a better Nigeria.

He urged everyone to come in Unity of condition and belief to better Nigeria.

He then congratulated the president-elect Bola Tinubu on reaching his dream after over 10 years of working in the Political space.

He mentioned Tinubu is the best candidate among all and he has no doubt in his commitment to equity, loyalty to Nigeria, fairness and desire for Nigeria to be globally relevant.

Buhari mentioned that the last 8 years as the president has been exciting in his commitment to see a better Nigeria.

He said in a bid to ensure the democracy in Nigeria remains resilient and our elected representatives also remain accountable to the people, he is leaving an electoral process that will ensure the credibility of elections and votes etc.

Buhari went on to mention that his administration had considerably been able to reduce the incidences of banditry, terrorism, armed robbery and some other criminal activities.

He then urged Nigerians to be more vukugant and give help and support to security agencies.

He mentioned that as he retires home to Daura in Katsina State, he feels fulfilled by what they have started in Nigeria. He expressed hope that the next administration will continue so that Nigeria will fulfill its destiny to be great.

He says he is confident that he is leaving the office with Nigeria better in 2023 than in 2015 when he came in.
