Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, minister-appointee, resigns from House of Representatives

Bunmi Tunji-Ojo who is a ministerial appointee has resigned from the House of Representatives. He is the lawmaker who is representing the Akoko north-east/north-west federal constituency.

He recently resigned from the House of Representatives. He was one of the 45 ministerial nominees of 48 who had been confirmed by the senate.

He was first elected into the house of representatives In 2019. He had also served as the chairperson of the house committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NNDC).

Recall just last week, on the 17th of August, President Bola Tinubu assigned portfolios to the ministerial nominees, one of which was Bunmi Tunji-Ojo. He had been assigned the portfolio of the minister of marine and blue economy. Not long after, on Sunday he was redeployed as the minister of interior.

Bunmi Tunji-Ojo then released a letter on Sunday which was his resignation from the lower chamber. He revealed that his resignation will enable him to contribute his quota for the development of Nigeria.

He shared that Nigeria needs 'collaborative and concerted efforts' so as to promote the advancement of the country.
