Chelsea have a long list of players unavailable for action due to injury and that has had an effect on how their season has panned out thus far.

Key players for the club have been in the treatment room for most parts of this season, and that has resulted in them missing many games.

Some players of the Stamford Bridge side are yet to taste action this campaign, while others have been in and out of the team due to injury.

Ironically, Chelsea's captain and vice-captain are all out due to injury, with Reece James and Ben Chilwell missing 11 and 14 matches respectively.

Mauricio Pochettino has had to tweak his side on many occasions without the leverage of some of his senior players, with the season almost getting to its crescendo.

The Premier League is a tasking league, where only the best performances will get you the required results.

This trend didn't begin this campaign, as the bug looks to have enveloped this Chelsea side in nearly 5 seasons.

Wesley Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah, who are out with knee and hamstring injuries respectively, have both missed 20 matches in the league this term.

They are yet to feature for the club since the commencement of the campaign, although there are high hopes that they could still feature before the expiration of the season.

Carney Chukwuemeka is also battling a knee problem and he hasn't featured in 17 Premier League games this campaign.

Romeo Lavia, who was signed from Southampton is also yet to shake up an injury bug, which has affected him this season, resulting in him missing about 17 league matches.

Meanwhile, Lesley Ugochukwu, who is suffering a hamstring knock has missed just 6 games this term due to injury.

Robert Sanchez has also had his fair share of injuries, with him being out of action for about 4 Premier League games and counting.

Additionally, Marc Cucurella has also suffered an ankle problem, which has caused him to miss about 4 Premier League games thus far.

Chelsea sit 10th on the English top-flight league table, with 28 points from 20 matches, winning 8 games, drawing 4, and losing 8.

The Blues return to action on Saturday, January 13, 2024, facing Fulham at Stamford Bridge, in an English Premier League encounter.

Mauricio Pochettino's side lost to Middlesbrough 1-0 in the Carabao Cup first-leg semi-final on January 9, 2024, and they will be looking to return to winning ways against the Cottagers.

Their league form has improved in recent games, picking up back-to-back league wins - defeating Crystal Palace 2-1 and sneaking a 3-2 victory over Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.

Chelsea supporters will be hoping that their form in the league continues to get better and better, as they aim to end the campaign in a relatively Okay position.
