Christian Pulisic, who played full-time for AC Milan, could not help the Ressonerri to avoid the defeat which put their Champions League campaign in tatters.

The hosts' early penalty miss by Olivier Giroud set the tone for a dismal evening.

Soon after, Marco Reus scored Dortmund's own penalty kick, and Samuel Chukwueze leveled just before halftime.

But in the second half, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Karim Adeyemi secured the three points for the visitors. After the match, USMNT player Pulisic spoke with American coach Jesse Marsch, who is currently a CBS Soccer analyst, about the Rossoneri's defeat to Dortmund, his old team.

Speaking about the match, Pulisic said: "Obviously it's unfortunate, but even after they went and scored we came back and got one back and then we're really pushing.”

“ I thought we had good momentum towards the end of the first going into the second half. And yeah just a little lapse in concentration allowed them to get two.”

The USMNT player added: “Just to continue with that momentum and I thought we did a good job of that and we had a few opportunities, like I said, at the beginning of the second and just couldn't take advantage. It wasn't our day.”

"They defended well, and they sorted a few transition moments. Obviously disappointing. Like I said, you know, there's some positives we can take out of it. But you know, all we can do is focus on trying to win the last game," he concluded.

However, with the loss against German side Dortmund, AC Milan must now win in order to move on to the Champions League knockout stage.

They also need Dortmund to win PSG after they also defeat Newcastle, who are currently infuriated over a controversial penalty that was given against them in the last seconds of their match against PSG.
