Bowoto Tanimola, aka Akpororo, said he was misunderstood by viewers in a recent performance.
In his attempt to describe the failed political system of the country, he jokingly said that Peter Obi will continue going to court for 8 years.
The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is currently in court over the 2023 presidential election to claim that the election results were rigged. Recall that most people were not satisfied with the result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Upon hearing Akpororo's joke, supporters of Peter Obi expressed their dissatisfaction on social media after the video went viral.
People have been blowing up his comment section to insult the comedian.
A follower, @splendstar said, "Tinubu video is actually more funny to your comedy. You look at the present state of Nigeria and you think making fun of people seeking for a better governance through a good leader is a joke. I blame those that even sit to listen to your dry jokes."
Another of his followers, @ademowawa commented, "Leave sensitive political issues out your jokes. It is emotional and sections of Nigeria are angry, hungry and tired."
One other comment by @elder_intoto, "These are the types of idi@ts who don't believe in the judiciary again. You want to resurrect your dead career by mentioning Peter Obi. Watch how God will humble you more. You went from choir master to craze? You are not even creative in your jokes that's why you talk carelessly."
