Consultant at UCTH abducted in Calabar, Cross Rivers


A consultant at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH), has been abducted just recently in Calabar.
The victim has been identified as Professor Ekanem Philip Ephraim. She is a neurologist and consultant at UCTH.

It was the Police Command in Cross River who confirmed this incident. They cornfield this news early this morning, Friday July 14, 2023.

The Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) SP Irene Ugbo was the one who revealed that this case is been addressed. She also revealed that there was no cause of alarm

She mentioned how the officers of state Police Command have begun their operation to track down these criminals who are behind the kidnapping of this woman.

She revealed that these criminals had evenseuzed the phones of the witness there and even the security guards around.

They collected their phones so they wouldn't be able to contact the police to alert them about the incident which was why the response of the police was slow.

She said this man was kidnapped yesterday night. It happened around 9pm at Mountain of Fire church road in Calabar Municipality Local Government Area.

She says they are still continuing in the pursuit of these criminals.
She also assured the public that they will be caught and brought to justice.

They criminals had gone to the victims place and pretended to be patients who wanted to see the doctor they were demanding to see the doctor and when the doctor came they kidnapped the victim.
Those who had tried to interfere were threatened with a gun so they stayed back.

The motive behind the kidnapping is still unknown as of this moment.
More details will be given as the investigation continues.
