Unfortunate news for Senator Ali Ndume of the Borno senitorial district as he faced charges of corruption and embezzlement of fund.
The law maker was however in court, sentenced to serve term in the Kuje correctional centre due to prompt failure to produce his surety on the trial, Abdulrasheed Maina, former chairman of the defunct pension task team.
This disclosure was made in the court by Justice Okon Abang who presided over the court at the FCT.
Senator Ndume was however given a set bail of N500m for his crimes, and it was instructed that the sum (bail) should be paid in to the Federation Account of the federal government.
Further instructions explained that evidence of payment should indicated Or the FG will sell a property situated in Asokoro, FCT to ensure the N500m bail had been settled.
Selling of the property was pledged by Ali Ndume as security for the bond.
The court stated that evidence of the N500m payment into the Federation should be presented in exchange for his release.
