Ebonyi polytechnic provides free buses for staff due to fuel hike
The Federal Polytechnic, Unwana, Ebonyi State has made provisions for their staff members to get access to free bus rides to school due to fuel hike.
It's no news what many Nigerians have been faced with since the fuel subsidy removal by the federal government which led to an increase in fuel price which has also led to an increase in transportation.
The free bus ride which the institution has provided is to cushion the effect of the increase in fuel price and transport.
It was the school registrar Val Okafor, who revealed this is a statement which was released. This statement was released to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday Tuesday in Abakaliki.
He revealed that the free buses which have been provided are to assist the staff to lessen the effect of fuel increase for them.
This information came after the 414th regular meeting of the cool cool held on the 25h of July.
They considered how the increase in fuel price has been affecting their staff members when commuting to school.
They revealed that this free bus service will last for one and half months. The bus ride began on the 27th of July 2023.
There will be two luxury buses which belong to the school released for this purpose.
The buses will take off from Amuro town hall bus stop, Afikpo, by 7.30 a.m. every morning to the institution. The time for departure in the evening after closing hours is by 4pm and they will take off from the old administration block car park.
He went ahead to urge the staff to take note of this schedule and maximize the use.
They have also instructed the drivers to ensure that the buses are not overloaded.
