Falz narrates how he and his team survived a near death experience 10 years ago
Popular Nigerian singer, Falz has narrated a near death experience he and his team had 10 years ago. The incident occured in 2013 and they had been travelling by road when this happened. They had encountered some gunmen who killed the driver of the car they were in. He narrated how gory the event was that year.
Falz is a famous Nigerian singer and a songwriter. He is also an actor and activist. He is famous for his roles in nollywood movies like Chief Daddy, Brotherhood and Quams money. His full name is Folarin Falana, but he is popularly known as Falz. He is 33 years old. He revealed that this near-death experience happened on his way home from Abuja in 2013. He wasn't the only one involved, his team was also there with him in the car.
He revealed there was no flight from Abuja to Lagos so they went by road. On their way, some masked gunmen attacked them.
In his words "It was day time. We started the trip around 2 p.m. At some point the driver was speeding so we told him to slow down and he assured us that he would because he also loves his life and had just gotten married. I was like okay, at least he is somebody that cares about his life. At some point, myself and Femi offed, we slept. Then later all 3 of us were sleeping and just the driver was awake… obviously we were asleep, so we don't know what happened, we just heard a loud bang. Everyone woke up at this point and we looked ahead. We see these turban-tying, AK47-wielding, dangerous-looking men in the middle of the expressway.
He continued "We were seeing them directly ahead of us. The bang we heard was actually a gunshot. They had shot at the car. Immediately we saw them, there was a second shot. This guy shot at our car and this bullet came flying through the car, through the middle or the car. In between everyone. All these things happening at this point, that are happening happened within 4 seconds… Everything happened so fast. From the first hulled coming, to us waking up, to the second bullet coming to us taking cover, to the third bullet, he shoots the third time and the bullet hit the driver in the eye. The driver dies instantly, foot still on the accelerator, the car still moving"
