Following the inauguration of President Tinubu on May 29th 2023, he appointed Femi Gbajabiamila, the incumbent Speaker of House of Representatives as the new Chief of Staff.

There were claims that he was introduced as the new Chief of Staff after weighing the possible options and seeing how capable he is for the task in a closed door meeting with Tinubu and other service chiefs in Abuja.

The former Minister of Culture and Tourism, Femi Fani-Kayode put out a congratulatory tweet yesterday wishing the new Chief of Staff well in his assignment, and he has no doubt that he will do an excellent job.

He said, “Congratulations to my friend and brother of over 40 years, the Hon. Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, on a well-deserved appointment as Chief of Staff to our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. (@officialABAT)

This appointment proves to the world that in this dispensation and under this administration, appointments are made based on merit, loyalty, and competence.

The Speaker's courage, resilience, determination, sense of justice and commitment is second to none, and I am very proud of him.”

Gbajabiamila, in his response, has urged Nigerians to wait for the official announcement from the government and let the system take its courses.
