Femi Otedola acquires N6 billion worth of shares in Dangote Cement

Popular Nigerian Businessman, Femi Otedola has acquired a sum of N6 billion worth of shares from Dangote cement industries. It was a source who had knowledge of the business transaction who revealed this to some newsmen on Thursday, the 18th of January, 2024. The source revealed that Femi Otedola acquired these shares in his own name. he invested N6 billion into Dangote Cement Plc which is a subgroup of Dangote group owned by Aliko Dangote. Dangote Cement is the biggest cement producer in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Femi Otedola is a famous Nigerian Business Tycoon. His full name is Olufemi Peter Otedola. He is the current executive chairman of Geregu Power PLC and owns majority stake in the company. He was once the chairman of Forte Oil. He is 61 years old. According to Forbes, as of 2024, his net worth is $1.2 billion. He is married to his beautiful wife named Nana Otedola. He has 4 children, 1 from his first relationship and the last 3 from his wife, Nana. Their names are Tolani, Florence aka DJ Cuppy, Temi (who is married to Mr Eazi) and Fewa Otedola.

Aliko Dangote is a 66 year old businessman and the founder of Dangote group of industries. He is the chairman of the board of Directors of Dangote Cement. Dangote owns 85.80% shares of Dangote cement. Recall last year (2023), Dangote cement returned 81.4% with 17.04 billion outstanding shares. Dangote and Geregu are not the only companies Femi Otedola has bought shares in. the business tycoon has 5.57% in FBN Holdings (a parent company of the First Bank of Nigeria). He also acquired 6.3% shares in Transnational corporation of Nigeria in 2022.
