FG declares June 12 as a public holiday
The Federal Government has declared June 12 as a Public holiday to mark Democracy day this year.
June 12 which is next Monday has been set aside for this and the holiday will be observed in the country.
This was revealed in a statement which was made by Dr Oluwatoyin Akinlade who is the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior.
The statement was issued in Abuja and it reveals the declaration of the public holiday on behalf of the FG.
They congratulated every Nigerian on this occasion.
She mentioned that the Democratic journey of Nigeria has been smooth and rough.
She says the most important thing is that Nigerians have remained steadfast on this.
She says this occasion is a memorable one and everyone has been invited to appreciate the progress made so far and celebrate them as well as look forward to a better future for Democracy in Nigeria.
She then wished everyone a happy Democracy Day celebration.
