FG invites over 65 world leaders for Tinubu’s inauguration Programme which will begin on Thursday.


The Federal Government has invited about 65 world leaders to the inauguration 9f president-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The inauguration will be taking place on the 29th of May, 2023.

The FG invited heads of state to attend this inauguration of Tinubu who will be sworn in as the 16th President of Nigeria.

The inauguration programme is set to begin on Thursday, next week.

A director in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also revealed that many African leaders have indicated they want to attend the inauguration.

The inauguration ceremony is to take place at Eagle Square in Abuja.

The director revealed that most of the leaders in the 54 countries of Africa have been invited.

Some representatives of some countries that are Nigeria’s traditional allies like the United States, the United Kingdom, Sausi Arabia, Canada, Germany, France, United Arab Emirates, China, Israel, Finland, Jamaica, Japan, Pakistan, Turkey are also expected to attend.

As part of activities in the inauguration is the handing over of transition documents to Tinubu and his vice president, Shettima.

An inauguration lecture which is titled, ‘Deepening Democracy for Integration and Development’ will be held on the 27th of May which is 2 days before the main ceremony.

There would also be an Inauguration Dinner/Gala Night at the State House Conference Centre on the 28th of May.

The swearing-in of the president-elect and the vice president-elect will be on the 29th of May.
