Ijeshatedo residents battled heavy floods this morning after a 6-hour rainfall submerged various parts of the community.

This is the aftermath of the early morning rain that started from 4.30 am Today , and it lasted for about 6 hours. Anytime it rains, whether some convectional rainfall or a heavy one , this area is always flooded and it is frustrating to residents as it flows into their rooms when the water level is high.

The streets affected were mostly, ilamoye street, omolabake street, and doyin oyeduro street, and a host of nearby streets, which were swept by the early morning rainfall that led to the floods and could be observed and verified that the major cause of the water on the streets was due to the bad drainage system and the bad road network which the itire ikate LCDA has failed to upgrade and put in proper conditions, also resulting in too many bad roads in the LCDA .
The roads and drainages on the street and nearby streets are also in a bad state.
The Local Government responsible for the development of good roads and drainage have kept a blind eye on this issue for so long which is totally not good, they should do something about the roads network and drainage system around that area.
The rain also forced many residents to stay indoors, as the streets have been totally flooded and residents could not move out without entering the dirty waters to get across, so as to get to their destination.

it was really bad that flood nearly took out this community in lagos. They need to look into fixing the drainage in Nigeria if they want to prevent flood.
