Four suspects arrested for killing Ogun herdsman


Four suspects have been arrested for allegedly killing a herdsman in Ogun state.

They had shot this man who has been identified as Umaru Aliu.

They killed him and dismembered his body in Ijagure village in Ogun State.
This happened in Imeko-Afon Local Government area

David Akinremi who is the state Amotekun Corps Commander, revealed this in a statement yesterday, May 10.

He mentioned that 2 of these suspects were arrested by the men in the Ogun state command while the others were arrested by men in the Oyo command.

He revealed that the people involved in this crime are actually 7 in number. The incident happened on the 30th of April which was a Sunday evening around 6pm.

He said they have finally arrested some of them.

He mentioned their names and they include Akinyele Adebayo who is 49 years, and Idosu Gbalo who is 30 years old

The deceased and another person were grazing their cattle in the bush near the village. It was then that these men had attacked.

They shot Umaru Aliu dead while the person with him who has been identified as Umaru Takake. narrowly escaped unharmed.

These men also dismembered the corpse where the incident had taken place and carried the head away.

They packed the remaining parts of the dismembered body and buried it.

Mr Akinremi mentioned that after they had caught these men and they confessed, they took the officers to the place where they committed the crime.

He revealed that the suspects who have been arrested are being transferred to the state police headquarters for prosecution.
