Gas explosion rocks Iju Ishaga burns 18 shops to ashes

Gas exploded around Agbado Road, Toyin Bus Stop, Iju Ishaga, and reportedly burnt down 18 shops in the area. This happened around 10 pm on Tuesday, the 13th of February. The Lagos State Fire and Rescue service attributed the cause of the explosion to six 75-50 kg gas cylinders that were accidentally exploded while being transported to a gas shop. The head cap of one of the cylinders had been compromised which resulted in the fires.

Also, the fire immediately spread after one of the cylinders rolled down the street and encapsulated the shops in the street. As of the time of filing this article, no life was lost in the cause of the fire and no injury was sustained. The fire has also been contained by the fire rescue team.
